Description :

This position is for a 13-week assignment in a progressive care unit.

The schedule includes three 12-hour night shifts from 18 : 45 to 07 : 15.

The unit manages patients with pulmonary and other medicine-related illnesses.

The goal patient-to-nurse ratio is 1 : 4, although it may be 1 : 5.

Travelers may be required to float to other units as needed.

Candidates are expected to work one holiday during the assignment.

Two holidays are required during winter holiday periods.

The unit is equipped for telemetry monitoring with remote capabilities.

There are two beds capable of managing ventilated patients.

Special procedures include care for chronic tracheostomy patients.

Candidates should have experience with various IV drips and telemetry management.

The staff collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, including respiratory services and social services.

Patients are primarily adults and geriatric.

Daily census in the unit averages around 20 patients.

The nursing staff consists of a large team that floats throughout the facility.

This unit contributes to the overall care of general medicine patients.

Travelers are expected to adhere to facility policies and procedures.

All request for time off must be disclosed upfront.

Compliance documentation will be required prior to the start of the assignment.
