Overview
The City of Pasadena's Human Resources Department is seeking a skilled, enthusiastic and energetic labor relations professional to fill a current vacancy at an Assistant Human Resources Analyst or Human Resources Analyst level. Appointment will be made at either level depending on experience. Assistant Human Resources Analyst salary : $74,837 to $93,546.
The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of California labor-management relations laws, particularly the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act (MMBA). They will bring experience supporting labor relations functions, including direct involvement in the collective bargaining process, grievance tracking, and conducting salary and benefits surveys. The successful candidate will be comfortable reviewing, interpreting and applying memoranda of understanding (MOUs), side letters, and other labor agreements. Additionally, they should be capable of conducting research and analysis on labor market trends, compensation data, and comparable agency practices to inform and support negotiations strategies.
The current vacancy is in our Labor Relations and Classification and Compensation Division, which manages all labor relations and classification and compensation matters for the City. Education and Experience
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in human resource management, public administration, business administration or a closely related field and at least one year of progressively responsible experience performing professional and technical human resources duties supporting labor relations activities; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience in a public agency is preferred.

Selection Process
The selection process may consist of a training and experience evaluation, written test of analytical skills, interview panel and department-level interviews.
