At CableMaster, our Sales Engineer will be an integral part of our Sales team, responsible for providing technical expertise throughout the sales process. This role focuses on understanding customer needs, developing tailored solutions, and driving business growth. Success in this position requires close collaboration with the Sales, Engineering, and Productions teams to deliver fast, effective solutions to our customers. In this position you will work in tandem with the Sales department.
Essential Responsibilities :
Design, Price and Quote
- Collaborate with customers to understand their technical requirements and provide solutions that meet their needs .
- Draw upon technical experience, procurement and engineering to develop differentiated customer proposals that will set CableMaster apart from the competition.
- Align with the sales, engineering and production teams to ensure the timing, feasibility and manufacturability of proposed solutions.
- Prepare accurate and compelling quotes for prospective and existing customers.
Technical Sales
Develop proposals and presentations that effectively communicate features and benefits of CableMaster's products, processes and capabilities.Customize products and services to address customer specific requirements.Introduce all-new to CableMaster processes and capabilities.Customer Activities
Occasionally travel for customer events.Sales Activity Documentation :
Record and track all sales activities and interactions with customers in SalesForce.Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of customer communications, proposals, and agreements.ERP Utilization :
Utilize the ERP system to manage customer data, orders, and ensure smooth order processing.Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.3+ years experience in similar role or job functionAbility to read customer drawings and specifications is requiredResults-oriented and customer-focused mindset.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Proficiency in ERP systems and Salesforce is preferred.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Experience and understanding of target customers located in the Midwest preferredProven experience in a technical sales role, preferably in the wire and cable or manufacturing industry preferred.Familiarity with key Quality Control (QC) standards, including : PPAP, COC and FAI, among others.Understanding of applicable working tolerances for CableMaster products and specific customer requirements.Proven ability to manage projects independently from initiation to completion.Comfortable engaging in a sales-focused environment, including direct communication with customers.Basic knowledge of the OEM sales cycle.Accepting this position requires candidates to complete and pass a background check.
