About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Dealer Mobile Refuse Mechanic to join our service team. This role isresponsible for providing on-site diagnostics, repair, and maintenance for refuse collection vehicles(front loaders, rear loaders, side loaders, and roll-off trucks) throughout New York, New Jersey, andConnecticut. The ideal candidate has strong experience with hydraulic systems, electricaltroubleshooting, and heavy-duty truck repairs, and thrives working independently in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on refuse collection vehicles at customer sites.
- Service hydraulic systems, electrical systems, compaction equipment, and lifting arms.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, including inspections, adjustments, and component replacements.
- Operate service truck equipped with tools and parts to complete field repairs.
- Document work performed, parts used, and service recommendations.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain issues, timelines, and solutions.
- Ensure safety standards are followed at all times when working on heavy equipment.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a diesel, heavy-duty, or refuse truck mechanic (field / mobile experiencepreferred).
Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems used in refuse trucks.Familiarity with McNeilus, Heil, Labrie, or similar refuse bodies a strong plus.Ability to diagnose and repair heavy-duty truck systems with minimal supervision.Valid drivers license with a clean driving record (CDL a plus).Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in outdoor environments year-round.Own tools required; company provides specialized tools and service truck.Benefits
