Job Description

As a Security Officer - Armed Retail Patrol in Sarasota, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Armed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a dynamic retail environment, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a visible presence. Your role includes conducting routine patrols and providing exceptional customer service while supporting a welcoming atmosphere for patrons and staff. This is an armed post, and you will be responsible for upholding Allied Universal's values of agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity as part of a team committed to putting people first.

What You'll Do :

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate protocols for an armed patrol post.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter, observing for any suspicious activity or potential threats.
  • Help to deter unwanted activity and / or theft by maintaining a visible armed presence and monitoring designated areas.
  • Document and report observations, incidents, and / or irregularities according to Allied Universal and client guidelines.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and / or emergency personnel when required in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain professional communication with store personnel, visitors, and customers while upholding Allied Universal standards.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Possess an active Armed Guard Card or Armed Guard License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
