Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN licensed in OR for a night shift position with floating requirements and Epic charting.
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department of a short-term acute care teaching hospitalNight shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00Every other weekend is required, with possible consecutive weekendsNurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1 : 4Floating required within hospital units and to nearby affiliate hospitals based on needTravelers may occasionally float to several locations within the regionEpic is used for electronic charting and documentationScrub attire may be any color; in the ED, scrubs are provided by the facilityResponsibilities include providing patient care to a diverse emergency department populationAll requested time off must be submitted during initial application and excessive RTO may impact eligibilityMust commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)Travelers' refusal to float may result in termination of assignmentFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyFree parking is available onsiteModules for orientation are completed pre-start and annuallyRequirements
Active OR RN license requiredMinimum of 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience preferred unless otherwise specifiedCurrent certifications as required for ER nursing (such as BLS and ACLS)Experience with Epic charting system requiredMust have a vehicle for commuting and potential floating to nearby facilitiesAble to provide two supervisory references from the past three yearsMust live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility for travel pay eligibilityFormer perm staff must have a 3-month gap before returning as a travelerBenefits
