Job Description

The Material Handling Supervisor is responsible for daily oversight and assignment of all Forklift Truck Operators and their performance of the assigned work and tasks relative to any functions of material handling and associated process and systems. The Supervisor may be assigned at times to backup the manager in specific duties in the manager’s absence.

Salary Range : $58,000 to $68,000 (Highly DOE)

WHAT YOU’LL DO ON THE A-TEAM :

  • Daily oversight and assignment of all Fork Lift Truck Operators and their performance of the assigned tasks relative to any functions of material handling and associated processes and systems.
  • Oversees the development of plans for storage and arrangement of stock.
  • Ensure your staff adheres to work priorities, project schedules and material handling activities with production requirements and material flow throughout the plant.
  • Communicates and collaborates daily with other supervisors and managers to coordinate material handling activities on the production floor.
  • Trains and directs Fork Lift Truck Operators in the proper use of equipment, material handling, warehouse functions and safety rules.
  • Monitors all mailing information including trailer schedules, ensuring accuracy of data, and expected deadlines are maintained.
  • Provides leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices and safety conscious behavior.
  • Be involved with personnel development including morale, training, corrective action and employee evaluations.
  • Reports production information and problems to the Manager of Logistics & Warehouse on a timely basis.
  • Interacts and communicates with all other support departments including press, premedia, finishing, sales and marketing, customer relations, finance, billing / estimating, procurement and human resources on issues affecting customer expectations, production efforts and employees.
  • Consult with Human Resources Department on all hiring, terminations, or discipline of department employees.
  • Maintain the highest level of quality, consistent with the standards of Arandell Corporation.
  • Follow all plant and OSHA procedures including performing all duties safely and in accordance with all work and safety rules and established work and industry practices.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality on all matters involving the Arandell Corporation.
  • Maintain a positive customer relations approach towards visitors, customers, and employees.
  • Proactively protects our community and reduces our footprint on our environment by keeping focus on continually improving our products and environmental programs.
  • Perform all special duties as assigned by management.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED :

  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a warehouse shipping / receiving environment.
  • Demonstrated results driven leadership skills.
  • Ideal candidates will show self-motivation and a goal-driven personality with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Requires overtime and weekend hours from time to time.
  • Must remain flexible to the demands and needs of others.
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

  • Must be in good physical condition. Stands, stoops, and walks most of the day. Pushes, lifts, and carries equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Should have a mechanical aptitude in order to operate and maintain a wide variety of equipment.
  • Can have no fear of heights.
  • Able to work in confined areas.
  • Must have excellent color vision.
