Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to join our team in ensuring the highest standards of product quality for our metal-based premium medical furniture. This role requires deep metal fabrication process understanding, technical problem-solving, and collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to maintain and improve product quality throughout the lifecycle.

Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems for metal components and assembled medical furniture products.
  • Collaborate with Value Stream Team to define and maintain critical-to-quality features and ensure design for manufacturability.
  • Create and update control plans, inspection procedures, and work instructions to support robust manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections, including first article inspection, using standard measurement tools and methods.
  • Support problem solving activities using tools such as 8D, 5-Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, etc.
  • Oversee and manage non-conforming product investigations and documentation.
  • Lead internal PPAP and supplier PPAP along with engineering changes.
  • Provide support and training to operators and inspectors on inspection techniques and quality expectations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve incoming material quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality or engineering, preferably within metal manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, forming and welding.
  • Experience in developing and implementing quality systems.
  • Strong understanding of quality management principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency with quality management tools and software.
