Job Title : Quality Inspector

Location : 1831 Carnegie Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92705 (Onsite)

Duration : 1 year contract

Payrate : $24 / hr on W2.

Estimated hours per week (Example : 40 hours or part time) : 40

Job Summary :

  • Performs product inspections at different stages of the manufacturing process of turbexpanders.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able tperform each essential duty well. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical demands required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Maintain inspection tools and working area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.

  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform first article and in-process inspection in Machine Shop. Generate NCR to document the defects if necessary.
  • Perform first article inspection on incoming parts as required (including castings, forgings or finish machined parts).
  • Perform source inspection at local vendors if required.
  • Perform receiving inspection (Purchased parts and Raw Material), in-process inspection (both internal and external parts), and final inspection (assemblies, sub-assemblies, and / or final skids).

    • Other tasks as listed but not limited :

  • Priority inspection and communication with turbplanning
  • Occasional travels tsuppliers sites for purpose of inspections / audits
  • 5S maintenance in turbinspection area
  • Red tag creation for rejected turbparts at receiving inspection
  • Coordination and support tsupplier quality engineer and NCR-MRB
  • Turbfinal web-order inspection

    • Education :

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate s Degree or vocational training in mechanical inspection, manufacturing technology or related field desirable; or equivalent combination of education and experience whereby requisite knowledge, skills and abilities have been demonstrated.

    • Experience :

  • Minimum of five years experience inspecting materials and mechanical parts used in the manufacture of high speed machinery such as turbines, turbexpanders, compressors, turbochargers, pumps, rotating machinery or related machinery.

    • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Be able tinterpret and extract necessary information per production travelers, drawings (blue-prints), procedures, specifications, and industrial standards.
  • Proficient in interpretation and usage of ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance).
  • Be able tset up, maintain, and use varieties of inspection hand tools (caliper, mic, bore gages, rings & plug gages, profilometer, coating thickness gage, comparator, sine bar etc.).
  • NDE (liquid penetrant) certified level II (by ASNT or equivalent) desired.
