About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Profession : Registered Nurse

Specialty : Labor and Delivery

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12 Hour Variable

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery, preferably in a Level 3 or higher unit.

License : Registered Nurse

Certifications : BLS, NRP preferred; ACLS, certification in inpatient obstetrics, electronic fetal monitoring, or inpatient antepartum preferred.

Must-Have :

• Manager approval if candidate lacks EPIC charting experience.
• Competency to manage high-acuity labor patients, including preeclampsia, preterm labor and delivery, and antepartum patients less than 35 weeks gestation.
• Ability to care for couplets.
• IV starts, cervical checks, phlebotomy, magnesium sulfate, blood administration, and insulin administration.
• Experience in circulating C-sections and C-section recovery care.

Description :

This position involves caring for all types of pregnant patients in labor and delivery.

The facility has a Level 3 NICU, which allows for the acceptance of patients with various risk factors or complications.

The care team manages both high-risk and low-intervention laboring patients.

Patient types include those in antepartum, OB triage / ED, postpartum, and infants.

Patient ratios include :

Floating may occur based on unit needs.

Required certifications must be current and must cover necessary skills for the role.

Candidates must be comfortable working variable shifts, including nights and weekends, throughout the contract period.

A rotation for holidays may also be expected.

Scrub color will be provided by the hospital.
