Overview

The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform has thousands of students looking for online AP English Literature and Composition tutors nationally. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—all from the comfort of your home.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring in AP English Literature and Composition.
  • Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
  • Be matched with students best-suited to your teaching style and expertise.
  • Tutor remotely using the Live Learning Platform.
  • Use the Tutor Copilot features to support instruction and engagement where available.
  • Invoice for tutoring sessions; Varsity Tutors handles payments and logistics.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base contract rates start at $18 / hour and can increase for specialized subjects; pay can reach up to $40 / hour with repeating sessions from the same student.
  • Get paid up to twice per week, for tutoring sessions conducted and invoiced.
  • Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.

    • Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Expertise in AP English Literature and Composition with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
  • Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Preference given to those with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.
