At least 3–5 years of technical or industrial sales experience, preferably within the machining sector. Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers. Competence in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM software. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel extensively, including overnight stays and some long-distance travel. Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds, climb ladders, and remain on feet for extended periods. Advanced degree or certifications relevant to sales and marketing or mechanical engineering. Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets. Experience in a customer-facing role within the machining or manufacturing industry. Strong strategic planning and analysis skills in sales techniques. Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, with a solid understanding of algebra and geometry. Robust problem-solving skills coupled with the capability to work under pressure. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Self-motivation and the drive to work independently as well as part of a team. Base salary plus uncapped commission structure. Sales Engineer - Large-Scale Machining
We are excited to announce an opportunity to join a 100% employee-owned company specializing in large-diameter machining, turning, and fabrication in the Greater Akron, OH area. As a direct hire, the Sales Engineer will spearhead revenue growth initiatives by leveraging their expertise in industry-specific technologies and solutions. This role is pivotal in fostering enduring customer relationships, enhancing technical sales processes, and contributing to the overall success of our dynamic team. Our commitment to innovation and quality, combined with your drive and expertise, will propel us toward achieving common goals while ensuring the highest level of service and satisfaction.
Salary : Commensurate with experience + Uncapped Commission + Comprehensive Benefits
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Drive sales initiatives by actively selling machining products and services within the assigned territory.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales targets across multiple time frames.
- Engage with clients and potential customers through a balanced combination of in-person visits and virtual meetings.
- Develop new business relationships and diligently follow up on all leads and sales inquiries.
- Analyze changes within the territory to seize growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Educate customers on how our services can meet their needs, addressing both expressed and unexpressed concerns.
- Represent the company in trade shows and perform service calls as necessary.
- Resolve customer issues with professionalism, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Utilize CRM tools to manage the sales pipeline and ensure accurate sales forecasting.
- Generate leads, make cold calls, and maintain a proactive approach in customer relationship management.
- Analyze and document the reasons behind lost quotes and adjust strategies accordingly.
