Overview :
The Safety Training Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety training programs within an organization. This role ensures that employees have the knowledge and skills to maintain a safe working environment, adhere to regulatory standards, and prevent accidents and injuries. The Safety Training Coordinator collaborates with various departments to identify training needs, designs effective training materials, and conducts training sessions.
Duties / Responsibilities :
Assist in design and development of safety training programs based on regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and organizational needs.Create engaging and interactive training materials, including presentations, videos, and hands-on exercises.Conduct safety training sessions for employees at all levels, ensuring comprehension and retention of information.Utilize various training methods, such as classroom instruction, online courses, and on-the-job training, to meet diverse learning needs.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, adjusting as needed.Stay updated on safety regulations and standards to ensure training programs align with legal requirements.Collaborate with regulatory agencies and industry organizations to stay informed about changes in safety guidelines.Work closely with department heads to identify specific safety training needs within each department.Communicate safety policies and procedures effectively to ensure understanding and compliance throughout the organization.Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and evaluation results.Prepare reports on training metrics and provide recommendations for improvement.Develop and conduct emergency response drills to ensure employees are adequately prepared for various safety scenarios.Collaborate with emergency response teams to enhance organizational preparedness.Cross-train in all facets of the Safety Division, preparing to fill in for anyone absent and grow in responsibility and scope over time.The person in this role will uphold the culture of J.F. Electric, including relationship-building with customers and general behavior on J.F. Electric or client premises or at J.F. Electric-sponsored events.
Requirements / Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Education, or a related field.Minimum of five (5) years of experience in safety training, with a proven track record of developing and delivering effective training programs.Certification in safety training (e.g., Certified Instructional Trainer) preferred.In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices.Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and understandable manner.Strong leadership qualities to effectively manage and lead safety training initiatives.Applicants may be subject to pre-employment screening, including drug screening, reference checks, employment verifications, education verification, background screening, and skills assessments.
Physical Requirements :
Stand, walk, and move about during training sessions.Lift and carry training materials and equipment.Use visual and auditory senses to assess training environments.Sit for extended periods when preparing materials or working on a computer.Travel Requirements :
