Location : Lehi, UT On-Site in Person 5 Days

Job Summary

We're hiring a Lead Medical Coder and Auditor to build and lead our internal coding audit function. This is a foundational role ideal for someone who has already created and run a compliant medical coding audit program.

This position involves :

• Pre-bill audits
• Provider training
• Documentation review
• Compliance oversight
• Workflow development

You'll work closely with leadership to ensure coding accuracy and prepare the foundation for future team growth.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and lead the internal medical coding audit program

Perform detailed pre-bill audits across multiple provider types

Educate providers on correct coding and documentation practices

Monitor and implement updates to payer and regulatory coding guidelines

Respond to coding questions and resolve documentation issues

Maintain audit workflows, tools, and reporting dashboards

Analyze trends and report findings to leadership for quality improvement

Qualifications

Required :

CPC certification through AAPC (Required)

Direct experience building and leading a coding audit program

Associate degree and 1+ year in auditing, training, or consulting OR 4+ years of experience in coding education / audit

Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and E / M coding

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently in a fast-growing organization

Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHR systems

Willingness to travel occasionally (less than 10%)

Preferred :

CPMA, CCS, RHIA / RHIT, or CHC certifications

Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, or related field

Experience in post-acute care

RN or LPN background (a plus)

Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical workflows
