VCA Blum Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant for our support team. Come join our growing animal hospital with 6 veterinarians and over 35 support staff!

Summary : Our Veterinary Assistants support our veterinarians and technicians in all aspects of animal care by restraining our patients during physical exams, treatments, and procedures, and providing treatments as directed by a veterinarian. They are an advocate of our patients to ensure they receive the proper care in a safe and comfortable manner.

Responsibilities (included but not limited to) :

• Assist our veterinarians and technicians in carrying, handling, and restraining animals during physical exams, treatments, and procedures
• Adhere to strict instruction in regards to walking and feeding hospitalized patients
• Assist in the proper protocol for handling humane euthanasia patients
• Assist in accurately filling prescription medications and diets
• Extensive cleaning and maintenance of the hospital, including treatment areas, exam rooms, surgical suite, and reception area
• Lab sample collection and processing

Qualifications :

Schedule : Full-time, 5 days per week and rotating Saturdays

Wage : $18.50-$22 / hr
