Position Overview
The Data Center & Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions across both on-premises and cloud platforms. This role combines strategic architecture with hands-on engineering, ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable systems that support business and manufacturing operations. The position also involves servant leadership, guiding technical teams through complex challenges while driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and collaboration across IT teams.
- Architect, deploy, and maintain hybrid cloud solutions integrating on-premises and Azure / AWS / GCP platforms.
- Act as lead engineer for installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of infrastructure.
- Implement and enforce infrastructure security protocols, including IAM, segmentation, and compliance controls.
- Monitor and optimize resources to ensure performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Design and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Lead cross-functional projects from planning to implementation, ensuring timely delivery.
- Maintain documentation of architecture, configurations, and operational processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.6+ years in cloud engineering and data center management, with 3+ years in an architecture or senior engineering role.Expertise in cloud platforms (Azure ; AWS / GCP also valuable).Strong background in hybrid IT environments, on-premises infrastructure, networking, firewalls, and virtualization.Proficiency with automation tools and scripting (Terraform, Ansible, Python).Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Azure Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Architect (Azure ).Additional certifications in security, networking, or data center technologies are a plus.Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
