We are looking for a meticulous and technically proficient 3D Scanner Operator to join our team in the digital preservation and production of high-fidelity 3D assets. This role involves working hands-on with delicate physical artifacts, preparing them for scanning, and operating high-resolution 3D scanning equipment. The ideal candidate will have keen eye for detail, a steady hand, and a passion for preserving historical records and materials. Key Responsibilities : -Handle historical and delicate artifacts with extreme care, following all preservation and handling protocols. -Prepare and style objects for optimal 3D scanning. Staging objects and ensuring support setup as needed. -Operate advanced 3D scanning equipment to capture accurate digital representation of real-world objects. -Ensure complete capture, including multiple passes. -Maintain clean, well-documented scanning logs, equipment calibrations schedules and project metadata. -Troubleshot scanning hardware to minimize downtime and ensure high-quality results. Required skills & Qualifications : -Experience operating 3D scanning equipment is a plus -Demonstrated experience handling fragile or valuable physical items with care. -Understanding of digital capture workflows and basic 3d standards. -Ability to follow precise handling, scanning, and documentation protocols. -Strong attention to detail and ability to work methodically and patiently. -Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment. -Work closely with Archivists and 3D production Artists. Preferred Qualifications : -Background in museum studies, archaeology, or conservation is a strong plus. -Familiarity with photogrammetry or hybrid scanning techniques. -Familiarity with digital asset management (DAM) systems or metadata tagging practices. -Passionate about preserving historical records and materials.
