Job Description : Perform general product preparation, clean-up and stock work in the Meat department and provide customer service. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks such as cutting, grinding, slicing, preparing, processing, trimming, tenderizing, sealing, packaging, wrapping, bagging, pricing, prefabricating, dating, labeling, scaling, merchandising, selling, serving customers, and other functions in accordance with company policies.
- Keep department temperature logs accurately updated and maintained.
- Stock and display meat items safely and in accordance with company standards.
- Check product quality; rotate stock to ensure freshness.
- Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and well organized.
- Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and well organized.
- Maintain clean, safe floors free from clutter.
- Provide good customer and associate relations; communicate effectively with customers and fellow associates.
- Unload trucks, sort orders, and place items in proper cooler locations.
- Wash and sanitize equipment in accordance with company and health department policies and procedures.
- Make a friendly impression on customers; greet and assist customers with quality foods.
- Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and / or older adults as needed.
- Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including maintaining a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment; manage conflicts in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
Minimum
Willing to work weekends and holidays.Effective written and oral communication skills.Ability to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.Ability to safely use cleaning solutions, sharp tools, and operate certain equipment.Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Able to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations and leave a positive impression on associates and customers.Desired
Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.Past work record reflects dependability and integrity.Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.About Us
