Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Dean to support the Dean in managing and supervising workforce development nursing programs at our Albuquerque, New Mexico site. This role involves instructional leadership, program oversight, and clinical site coordination, working closely with faculty, clinical partners, and students.
The Assistant Dean will assist in planning, developing, and evaluating all aspects of the nursing program, including curriculum implementation, faculty management, student advocacy, compliance with regulatory bodies, and budget oversight. The position also includes maintaining clinical site relationships and ensuring clinical experiences meet educational and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Support the Dean in managing program faculty, staff, clinical sites, curriculum, compliance, and budget.
Assist with preparing reports, proposals, surveys, and maintaining student and faculty records.
Oversee clinical site assessments, coordinate clinical placements, and ensure proper clinical approvals and evaluations.
Participate in program committees, admission processes, student orientation, and faculty support.
Maintain a 50% teaching load in skills lab, simulation lab, and / or clinical settings.
Ensure timely completion of course and clinical evaluations.
Advise and support nursing students, including leading bi-weekly at-risk student meetings.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance program quality and compliance.
Utilize technology to facilitate teaching and program administration.
Qualifications :
Active Registered Nurse license in New Mexico (or state where Workforce Development site is located). For those relocating to California, licensing costs will be covered.
Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing, education, or administration. Master's degree preferred; candidates must be willing to pursue a master's if not already completed.
Minimum of one year teaching experience in pre- or post-licensure nursing programs.
Four years of continuous direct patient care experience or equivalent nursing experience.
Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
Commitment to diversity and ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Learning Management Systems.
