Financial Reporting Analyst
The Analyst - Financial Reporting provides support with the preparation of the Company's consolidated financial statements and the Company's external reporting to the SEC, financial institutions, etc. Coordinates quarterly reviews and annual audit of the Company's financial statements with external auditors and the preparation of the Company's Annual Report to Shareholders. Provides support in the preparation of monthly internal reporting for the Company's Management. This position applies advanced accounting principles and procedures to summarize and report upon financial information and prepare accurate and timely financial reports.
Participates in quarter and annual reporting process (internal and external SEC reporting) Prepares all Company filings required by the SEC (Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, Form 8-K, Form 4, etc.) and other investor materials Reviews and verifies accuracy of account balances and classifications. Analyzes changes in account balances and makes recommendations to correct errors as appropriate. Handles monthly close process, including elimination and consolidation as well as certain accruals and other entries required for the preparation of financial statements Executes variety of financial reports to communicate results, trends and issues, incorporating statistical and ratio analysis as well as other necessary management accounting review including providing commentary for monthly analytical reviews. Identifies process and control improvement opportunities and works with manager to implement the appropriate modifications. Assists with internal and external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors. Stays abreast of all accounting legal requirements to ensure continuous compliance. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. Implements and reviews SOX controls. Focuses on professional development and growth through interaction with other team members and colleagues from other parts of the Company Additional duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field Advanced degree (MBA, Master's) preferred CPA license preferred 2+ years progressive Accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience Prior SEC reporting experience. High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications. Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning). Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts. Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
