Join Our Team as a Adult Behavioral Wellness Specialist !

Location : Grimes, Iowa

Thoroughways, LLC is excited to announce the opening of a new 24-hour Supported Community Living (SCL) home in Grimes! We are seeking dedicated and compassionate team members to join us in supporting individuals with cognitive disabilities in a warm, community-based setting.

We are currently hiring for Full-Time & Part-Time :

We offer both traditional 8-hour shifts and 12-hour shifts (8am–8pm or 8pm–8am), with a pay range of $17–$20 / hr depending on experience. With 12-hour shifts, you only work 3 days a week, but you’re  paid for a full 40-hour schedule!

Job Summary :

Thoroughways is looking for a dedicated Behavioral Wellness Specialist to support individuals with cognitive and behavioral challenges using a strength-based approach . This role focuses on implementing individualized service plans, fostering daily living skills, and utilizing person-centered strategies to empower participants. By maximizing access to community resources and encouraging social engagement, the Behavioral Wellness Specialist helps individuals regain meaning and purpose in their daily lives. Through compassionate support, they assist participants in building confidence, enhancing their quality of life, and achieving and maintaining independence.

What You’ll Do :

• Provide direct support to individuals with cognitive and behavioral challenges
• Implement person-centered strategies to promote independence and well-being
• Assist with daily living skills, emotional regulation, and community integration
• Collaborate with families, interdisciplinary teams, and support networks
• Utilize de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches

What We’re Looking For :

Experience in behavioral health, Brain Injury, Cognitive Disabilities, HCBS, or related field

Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Ability to work independently and adapt to diverse needs

Passion for advocacy and holistic, community-based support

Reliable transportation and ability to travel within service areas
