Die Engineer

  • Type : Direct Hire
  • Location : Chicago, IL (Onsite)
  • Schedule : 1st Shift (6AM - 4 : 30PM)
  • Industry : Automotive (Tier 1)

Die Engineer Responsibilities

  • Lead die design, development, and troubleshooting to ensure efficient and stable production processes.
  • Support new tool launches, tryouts, and PPAP activities from sourcing through implementation.
  • Identify and resolve process issues through root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve tooling performance, efficiency, and quality.
  • Recommend and integrate new die technologies and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Establish and document processing parameters; ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Provide technical support for quoting, engineering changes, and process improvements.
  • Train and mentor die leaders and engineers in die principles and best practices.

    • Die Engineer Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of hands-on die engineering or tooling experience.
  • Strong knowledge of die construction, troubleshooting, and stamping processes.
  • Proficient in CAD software (UG / NX, Catia, or AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of standard quality systems (TS 16949, ISO 14001).
  • Proven problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
