Job Description

Salary : $18 per hour

Catalano, Caboor & Co. is a well-established Certified Public Accounting and business consulting firm located in Lombard. Since 1987, the Firm has provided a wide range of accounting services including, tax planning and preparation, audit, and business and management consulting services to businesses and individuals nationwide. We have modern software and processes along with highly motivated accounting professionals and experienced support staff.

We are seeking a motivated Intern for the 2025 tax season to join our team in Lombard beginning in January of 2026 and through the tax deadline April 16th, 2026. Our ideal candidate will be an accounting major and, at a minimum, be in their senior year. Knowledge of MS Office Suite and being comfortable learning and working in accounting and tax software is essential. All interns graduating during semester of internship or recently graduated, may be considered for full time placement at the end of the internship.

Essential Functions

Learning and working in various Firm products and software.
Entering / inputting information accurately.
Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, management, and partners.
Complete assigned tasks which may vary in responsibility and complexity depending on Firm needs.
Potential to prepare tax returns depending on skill and ability.
Completes tax related research and projects as needed.

Skills

Organized and able to manage multiple priorities and projects.

Computer literate in MS Office Suite - especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Ability to exchange information clearly and concisely and to present ideas, report facts, and other

information.

Ability to be flexible and / or re-prioritize based on management needs.

Ability to work effectively in a professional office environment and possess an executive presence in

dress, speech, and manner.

Requirements

Working toward bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

Minimum of senior year status.

This position requires in person attendance at our Lombard office with flexibility of scheduling; this is a part-time position during tax season (typically mid-January through mid-April). Hours may fluctuate weekly based on workload but we expect this position to require 4 hours per day Monday through Friday with the possibility of Saturdays and evenings.

Pay starts at $18 per hour.
