MEP Superintendent
The MEP Superintendent is responsible for field operations on the project(s) assigned in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project in regard to Mechanical and Electrical. The MEP Superintendent directly supervises field labor force, including laborers / craft workers. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as strong communication and client service skills.
Major duties and responsibilities include :
- Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force
- Review and approve Trade Contractor Payment Applications with Project Manager
- Maintain good relationships with internal and external clients, including representatives of Owner and Architect / Engineer
- Develop and maintain site logistics plan, in coordination with Project Manager
- Manage quality program
- Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts
- Monitor costs, including labor time and material
- Manage self-perform features of work
- Ensure an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring others
- Manage schedules and ensure all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates
- Attend and participate in project meetings, including subcontractor meetings
- Assists with PreCon / Estimating phase of the project
- Verify final record drawings are accurate
- Mobilizes the site and set up site utilities
- Assures necessary permits are secured and inspections occur
- Reviews and verifies all Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Reviews and approves submittals for processing
- Reviews cost reports to assure they reflect accurate quantities and work put in place
- Keeping detailed daily records of MEPS trade contractors' and work progress

Bachelor's Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent. May substitute required education degree with related experience on a one-to-one basis8 years of Trade contractor experience in a superintendent role (or similar)Working conditions and physical efforts include :
You must be adaptable to all types of weather conditions and traverse and inspect all areas of a construction job site, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day.Ability to repeat the same movements.Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls.Ability to compose, send, and reply to emails and written correspondence.Must be able to lift, pull, or move up to 50 pounds at a time.Travel may be required occasionally, primarily in the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid Driver's License).Exposure to characteristic construction site hazards.About Manhattan
