Workers' Compensation Attorney - Cleveland, OH

A well-established Cleveland law firm is seeking a Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its growing practice. The ideal candidate will have experience representing employers, insurers, or self-insured entities in workers' compensation matters before the Industrial Commission of Ohio and in related litigation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative and professional environment with a firm known for its strong client relationships and litigation experience.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Ohio Bar in good standing
  • 3+ years of experience in workers' compensation defense or related litigation
  • Strong understanding of Ohio workers' compensation laws and procedures
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases with attention to deadlines and detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach
  • Responsibilities

  • Represent employers and insurers in workers' compensation claims and hearings before the Industrial Commission of Ohio
  • Handle all aspects of case management, including investigation, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and hearings
  • Draft pleadings, position statements, motions, and other legal documents
  • Conduct legal research and develop defense strategies tailored to each case
  • Advise clients on workers' compensation exposure, risk management, and compliance
  • Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and medical professionals
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient and effective case handling
