Essential Functions
Assess, plan, execute, and document individualized nursing care for patients across all age groups, including newborns and children in emergency, labor / delivery, and pediatric units. Encourage patient independence by setting care goals and involving patients and families in discussions about medical conditions, testing, medications, and self-care techniques. Monitor patients' physical, mental, and emotional status, reporting changes as necessary. Provide direct patient care and support as an integral member of the healthcare team. Mentor and train new staff and students. Adhere strictly to privacy and security regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI). Demonstrate unit-specific competencies within a reasonable orientation period and maintain ongoing proficiency.

Education and Experience
Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred. Previous nursing experience is advantageous.
Licensure and Certification
Current Registered Nurse licensure in the relevant state is mandatory. Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
Additional Requirements for Surgical Services
Regular and holiday on-call duties are required for nurses in operating room, cardiovascular operating room, endoscopy, and perianesthesia units, with specific response times ranging from 30 to 45 minutes depending on assignment.
