Welder / Fabricator – Steel Manufacturing

Location : Grand Rapids, MI

Shift : 1st and 2nd shift openings - OT AVAILABLE

Pay : $20-25 / hr

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and dependable Welder / Fabricator to join our team at a growing steel manufacturing company . In this role, you’ll be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding steel components according to blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate takes pride in precision work and values safety, teamwork, and quality craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and / or stick welding on steel parts and assemblies
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols
  • Cut, grind, fit, and assemble metal components to precise specifications
  • Operate fabrication tools such as saws, torches, plasma cutters, and grinders
  • Inspect welds and fabricated assemblies for accuracy and quality
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear proper protective equipment
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assist in other shop duties as needed to support production goals

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of welding or fabrication experience in a manufacturing or metal shop environment (certification preferred but not required)
  • Proficient in MIG welding; TIG and stick experience a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and measuring tools accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
  • Reliable attendance and positive attitude
