Electrophysiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant) to join our growing Electrophysiology (EP) and Arrhythmia program. This position offers the opportunity to work in a highly supportive and collegial environment, closely aligned with a cardiac electrophysiologist committed to collaborative care and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients with arrhythmias and cardiac devices, including pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs).
- Provide both inpatient and outpatient care, including pre- and post-procedural evaluations for electrophysiology studies, ablations, device implantations, and loop recorder insertions.
- Coordinate and facilitate diagnostic testing and therapeutic procedures in collaboration with the EP team.
- Educate patients and families on arrhythmia diagnoses, treatment options, and device management, ensuring clarity and engagement in care plans.
- Interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs), Holter monitors, and remote device transmissions under the supervision of EP physicians.
- Manage medications including anticoagulants, antiarrhythmic drugs, and other cardiovascular therapies as clinically indicated.
- Document all clinical care and patient encounters in the electronic health record accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, multidisciplinary case conferences, and educational sessions to support program development and patient outcomes.
Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree in Nursing or Certified Physician Assistant from an accredited program.Minimum of 1–2 years of cardiology or electrophysiology experience preferred.Prior EP or cardiology specialty training is highly desirableTraining and familiarity in the use of EPIC (EMR) preferred.Familiarity with cardiac electrophysiology procedures and device management preferredWe look forward to hearing from qualified candidates interested in joining us in a highly collegial environment where the patient is at the center of what we do.
