Position Summary

Reporting to Sanitation Supervisor, the Sanitation Crew Lead is responsible for the coordination of activities of workers engaged in duties concerned with sanitation programs in food processing establishment by performing the following duties.

The ideal candidate for the Sanitation Lead role will have the ability to lead a team, while also completing other demands / tasks will be required. They should be flexible and reliable.

Position Responsibilities

• Inspects products and equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
• Support and mentor food handlers and production personnel in sanitary and pest-control procedures.
• Directs cleaning of equipment and work areas.
• Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
• Confers with management and production personnel on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.
• Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
• Routes reports to Sanitation supervisor and Production managers and / or designated plant personnel.
• Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
• With the support from Sanitation supervisor and Production Manager interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Maintains time and Sanitation records.
• Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of Sanitation crew.
• Performs activities of Sanitation crew.
• Collects post-sanitation EB and ATP swabs.
