Healthcare Setting : Medical-Surgical Acute Care Unit

Assignment Start Date : November 17, 2025

Assignment End Date : February 16, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour nights (7p-7a)

Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Holiday Rotation : Per unit policy

Charting System : EPIC

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1990 - $2130 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or proof of application in process

BLS certification (AHA required)

Minimum 1 year of recent hospital experience preferred

Experience titrating Heparin drips

Willingness to float to other nursing units as needed

Negative drug screen required

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients with diverse diagnoses

Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5-6 : 1 during night shifts

Administer and titrate Heparin drips according to protocols

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including hospitalists, intensivists, pharmacy, and respiratory therapy

Perform IV starts and coordinate blood draws using unit resources

Monitor patients on oxygen therapy and stable BiPAP / CPAP

Document patient care accurately in EPIC electronic health records

Participate in orientation and ongoing professional nursing development
