We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team in San Mateo, California. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining compliance and streamlining processes.
Responsibilities :
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments while verifying their accuracy.
- Manage vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies related to payments.
- Prepare and issue invoices to customers, monitor accounts, and follow up on overdue payments.
- Reconcile financial accounts and bank statements to maintain accurate records.
- Record journal entries and support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and external regulations.
- Identify and implement opportunities for improving accounting processes.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth execution of daily accounting operations.
- Utilize accounting software, such as SAP and Concur, to manage transactions effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in accounts payable processes, invoice coding, and check runs.
- Familiarity with tools like SAP, Concur, and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with vendors and team members.
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
