Staff Trainer, RBT
The Staff Trainer Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) supports the clinic location’s assigned Lead Board Certified Behavior Analyst (LBCBA) and clinical team - including BCBAs, BCaBAs, and Resident RBTs - by providing high-quality training and operational support to enhance staff performance and client outcomes. Staff Trainers are responsible for implementing new hire onboarding, delivering ongoing clinical training, and supporting RBTs based on team needs. This role also includes direct therapy coverage and administrative tasks aimed at maintaining a smooth and consistent clinical environment. The Staff Trainer serves as a model of excellence in behavior-analytic practice and staff development to help maintain a positive and collaborative clinical environment.
Duties include, but are not limited to :
Conducting new-hire employee training
- Implementing the new employee training process tailored to the specific needs of each new employee
- Ensuring completion of RBT videos and quizzes through Rethink platform
- Assisting in creating BACB accounts for new employees and uploading requisite documentation for RBT exam application
- Completing the initial competency assessment
- Providing comprehensive on-the-floor and classroom training for new hires
Conducting ongoing training for current employees :
Delivering training sessions based on BCBA / BCaBA feedback or employee requestsModeling and providing constructive feedback as necessaryAssisting in the renewal process for RBTsAssisting with RBT renewal competencies annuallyProviding up to 20 hours per week of 1 : 1 Direct ABA Therapy when scheduled
Applying behavioral principles consistently in all interactions with client(s)Teaching client(s) to acquire language, academic, social, self-help and / or appropriate life skills as stated in treatment planFollowing BIP as written in all situationsResponding to and managing crisis situations which may include client physical aggressionCompleting session notes in a timely mannerCompleting administrative responsibilities related to enhanced clinical operations
Maintaining the RBT Tier system, ensuring it is kept up to date.Providing support to RBTs as needed including answering ABA concept related questions, assisting with maladaptive behaviors, and administering breaksCollaborating with the clinical team to ensure employee progress.Assisting with Opening and Closing of the center as assignedCompleting other administrative tasks as assigned.
