The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Speechify’s products turn PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio, helping users read faster, read more, and remember more. Our text-to-speech products include the iOS app, Android app, Mac app, Chrome Extension, and Web App. Speechify has been recognized by Google as Chrome Extension of the Year and by Apple as App of the Day.

Speechify operates with a 100% distributed team of nearly 200 people worldwide, including frontend and backend engineers, AI research scientists, and professionals from leading tech companies and academia.

Overview

Speechify’s Studio is a product addressing creators’ needs to create human-sounding voiceovers with AI text-to-speech, dub videos, clone voices, and more. This is a key role for someone who thinks strategically, enjoys fast-paced environments, and is passionate about making product decisions and delivering delightful user experiences. We are a flat organization that values leadership demonstrated through technical excellence and results.

Our interview process involves several technical interviews and aims to complete them within one week.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain Speechify’s Creator Studio found at speechify.com / studio
  • Integrate AI models to provide state-of-the-art voiceovers, dubbing, voice cloning, and more

An Ideal Candidate Should Have

  • Experience with AWS / GCS and building service architectures leveraging these services
  • Experience designing scalable architectures using microservices
  • Experience writing testable code and contributing to testing infrastructure
  • Proficiency with React and modern React stack, or Node.js, or both
  • Understanding of low-level JavaScript and ability to profile and optimize SPA frontend and backend performance
  • Preferred : video and audio processing experience

  • The United States base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity, depending on experience
