The Opportunity
- Participate in documentation quality improvement efforts.
- Collaborate and share technical information with various technical, administrative, CAD, and logistics support groups within the facility.
- Receive assignment and technical information from a supervisor, may be provided notes or manuals containing operating procedures and details, and may observe production, developmental or experimental activities to expand or verify the provided operating procedures and details.
- Support technical standards and methods for photographing, cataloging, using, and archiving unique DOD and common commercial equipment.
- Take photos of equipment installations, maintenance, and ancillary equipment. Edit photos to ensure quality pictures are used in manuals, which includes enhancements, adding callouts, and working with line graphics.
- Review CAD drawings for part number information and updates required for inclusion in documentation.
- Access data relative to operation, maintenance, and service of equipment, such as manufacturers' catalogs, drawings, parts lists, and specifications for integration into existing and newly developed documentation and deliverables.
- Support technical desktop publication and quality standards for facility work instructions, style sheets, and style guide.
- Use established templates (Adobe FrameMaker, Microsoft Office, et.al.).
- Follow established editing procedures to ensure quality of deliverables.
- Follow established project priority working with local work order systems (ServiceDesk Plus and / or Jira)
- Core software (or ability to learn) : Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDraw and / or Adobe Illustrator, Adobe
- Pro, Microsoft Word, Autodesk Vault Viewer.
Responsibilities
Coordinate technical manual development and improvement with technical experts; both local and remote.Write or revise material that is mostly standardized for technical and administrative publications, reports, manuals, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related materials concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment.Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology, maintain records and files of work and revisions, select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material, assist in laying out material for publication, duplication, and distribution of material.Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of Technical Writing experience preferred.Current Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS / SCI clearanceDesired :
