Sewing Machine Operator

Position Overview :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Sewing Machine Operator to join our Apparel Repairs team in Hewitt, TX . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in garment repair, alteration, and restoration using industrial or standard sewing machines. This role requires precision, efficiency, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform a variety of apparel repairs, including stitching, hemming, patching, and alterations on garments.

Repair and replace apparel components such as zippers, buttons, sleeves, collars, seams, and patches .

Operate and maintain industrial sewing machines and related tools to ensure consistent quality.

Inspect finished repairs for accuracy, durability, and adherence to company quality standards.

Follow repair specifications and instructions to ensure garments meet functional and aesthetic expectations.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation, ensuring machines are in proper working condition.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize repair orders and meet daily production targets.

Record completed work and report any quality issues or recurring defects.

Qualifications & Skills :

High School Diploma or GED required.

2+ years of experience in garment sewing, apparel repair, or alterations preferred.

Proficiency with industrial sewing machines (single needle, double needle, overlock, etc.).

Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.

Ability to read and follow work orders and repair instructions.

Good time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a production environment.

Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements :

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

Frequent use of hands, fingers, and arms to operate sewing machines and tools.

Lift or move garments and materials up to 25 lbs .
