Responsibilities

Lead and support civil design for a variety of private and public projects

Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and final design plans

Coordinate utility, grading, and stormwater design using AutoCAD Civil 3D

Develop construction drawings and documentation packages

Perform hydraulic design and stormwater modeling, including detention and drainage systems

Assist with roadway rehabilitation and municipal infrastructure

Work with permitting and plan review processes at local and state levels

Communicate with clients and stakeholders regularly

Contribute to a team-first culture by helping colleagues and mentoring junior staff

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelors degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program

Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) working toward licensure

5+ years of experience in civil site design or municipal engineering (beneficial but not mandatory!)

Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Familiarity with ADA design standards, building codes, and BMPs

Knowledge of surveying principles, stormwater calculations, and permitting processes

Self-starter with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects

Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check

Location & Schedule

This is a full-time, in-person position based in our Belvidere, Illinois office. A reasonable commuting distance is expected. Our team works a standard Monday through Friday schedule with daytime hours.
