Responsibilities Work in an acute care hospital setting in a combined Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit Unit includes 7 L&D beds, 8 postpartum beds, and 1 OR suite for C-sections Obstetric and neonatal patient population, including cases with hypertension and gestational diabetes; does not typically deliver under 36 weeks Patient ratios include 1 : 1 for patients on pitocin, magnesium, or insulin drips and 1 : 3 for couplet care Responsible for titration of drips such as pitocin, insulin, and magnesium Uses Meditech EMR and Philips tele monitors; must be able to interpret fetal strips and use traceview / PIP EFM system Night shifts are required, with every other weekend and every other holiday rotation Call is required depending on staffing needs Floating is required to Medsurg, ER, or other hospital units as needed, with permanent staff floating first Block scheduling is allowed, but no self-scheduling is available Maroon surgical scrubs are provided and must be worn while on the unit Role involves independently managing laboring, postpartum, and neonatal patients, including titrating medication drips Will float to other units as needed and provide couplet care as assigned The unit team includes a charge nurse per shift, CNAs, and surgical techs for support Block scheduling offered, and orientation consists of three department-specific shifts RTO must be declared up front; no additional RTO approvals after submission Holiday coverage is required for every other holiday Scrubs are provided by the facility and must be changed into upon arrival on the unit Requirements Active ND or compact RN license at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted Minimum of 2 years' experience working as an RN in LDRP / L&D Current BLS and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications required; ACLS, NRP, and STABLE are preferred Ability to independently read and interpret fetal strips Experience with Meditech EMR required Critical thinking and adaptability skills Must provide a copy of driver's license with application References required : one supervisor from last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from last 3 years with employment dates and rehire eligibility Candidates must not have worked in any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility (including CHI or Dignity) in the past 12 months in a full time, part time, or PRN role Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-620129.
