Places Showroom, a leading wholesale women's apparel showroom, is looking for an experienced Merchandising Manager. The primary goal of this role is to work closely with our represented brands to ensure the showrooms have a solid product assortment to fulfill the sales goals of the organization. The Merchandising Manager will share responsibility for educating the sales team on product knowledge and partnering with them to communicate product needs to the brands. The Merchandising Manager will also work with the sales and showroom teams to provide necessary information to allow them to meet their goals This role focuses on the supervision of Merchandising functions for multiple external clients, including but not limited to, SKU plan analysis, pre-lining, and post-season close analysis. The secondary goal is the scout, field, and communicate with potential new brand clients to properly fulfill needs of the Place brand matrix. This role will be asked to travel to and participate in both regional and national tradeshows and markets, and product knowledge seminars.
Responsibilities
- Brand Development & Merchandising : Includes but not limited to pre-lining, working with design / sales teams to achieve optimum growth potential, provide seasonal feedback to relevant teams.
- Oversee range handoffs with brands each season.
- Compile & assess findings to make relevant SKU recommendations based on historical data.
- Act as brand owner - first point of contact for assigned brands.
- Partner with sales team to review all range feedback, hits and misses, and product feedback.
- Review weekly / monthly best sellers.
- Manages the brand's critical path calendars to ensure sell date alignment with trends in the selling and trade show calendar.
- Brand Onboarding : Screening and scouting potential opportunities for brand clients.
- Represent the organization and make relationships with buyers and designers. Act as the face of Place, continually network with new brands to identify holes in the market, be the go-to on merchandise and price trends in the market. Serve as creative consultant to contracted parties.

4+ years experience in a brand merchandising roleAdvanced proficiency in ExcelAbility to travel up to 25%Strong communication skills, both written and verbalHigh level of professionalismStrong knowledge of women's contemporary fashion spaceMust reside in the Los Angeles area, this role cannot be worked remotely
