POSITION OVERVIEW :
Creates a professional office image by providing superior customer service. Effectively assists the medical providers in the care and treatment of patients. Works cooperatively with other staff members to promote a smooth workflow within the clinic. Performs assigned procedures and duties within the scope of practice. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Certification as a Radiology Technician, Nursing Assistant, or Medication Aide, EMT required
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Experience in a physician's office preferred
- Computer skills preferred

Takes vital signs, BP's, Ht. / Wt.Obtains reason for visit, updates history and medication lists, obtain initial assessment and screenings on health maintenanceAssists with procedures (i.e., waived lab tests, dressing changes, suture removal, venipunctures, etc.)Obtains consentsCommunicates with other hospital departments to schedule tests and proceduresReturn calls from patients, pharmacies, other providers, etc. in a timely mannerCommunicates with outside agencies as neededAccurately, completely, and in a timely manner documents findings and outcomes of all above interactions within the electronic medical record and signs each entrySchedules appointments for patientsElectronically communicates with insurance companies for pre-certificationOrganizes patient referralsMaintains a clean working environmentCleans and keeps stocked exams / procedure rooms
Demonstrates appropriate instrument and safety procedures when cleaning and disinfecting per clinic routineTakes and receives instruments from Central Sterilization as neededCheck medications and supplies for expiration monthly, properly disposing of expired medications and suppliesAlerts manager to any problems with instruments, equipment, or environmentAssists office staff as neededAttend meetings and in-services as requiredPerform other duties as assigned
