The role of Accounting Consultant will play a key role in client delivery for our Fractional Chief Financial Officer (FCFO) service offering. This hybrid role will primarily focus on working with our clients to assure their books and records are well maintained, processes are created to make this maintenance process accurate and repeatable, and ultimately that we provide timely, essential financial information to clients.
Reports to : FCFO Consultant
Purpose The Accounting Consultant will work closely with clients on the FCFO team to uphold our core values in client delivery and help us achieve our company purpose through leveraging our three uniques.
Responsibilities
- Work directly in client systems to record transactions accurately and timely, including collaboration on improving the client experience.
- Engage in accounting cleanup and maintenance.
- Support client month-end close and reconciliation processes; develop workpapers necessary for GAAP accounting and implement improvements.
- Partner with the client's accounting / finance team to address gaps in reporting and maintain relationships with key client personnel.
- Provide ideas for improving quality, timeliness, and usefulness of accounting data.
- Support job costing, budgeting and cash flow forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Work with the DG team to ensure client needs are met.
- Define and document processes and controls tailored to client needs with the FCFO Consultant.
- Assist with adoption of new systems as needed.
- Coordinate with future global accounting resources, ensuring clear communication, effective delegation of tasks, and seamless integration into existing workflows.
- Some travel to client sites is required.
Qualifications
Background in accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and general ledger functions. Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.Strong Excel skills.QuickBooks expert - Online and Desktop; competent in other accounting systems (e.g., Intacct, NetSuite, Plex, Xero, etc.).Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple clients simultaneously.Process oriented, reliable, and consistent.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to explain financial concepts to key client personnel.OK with messy – likes a challenge.Willingness to be mentored, with growth and advancement opportunities.Likes variety and the ability to adapt to different client systems and industries.Seniority level
