BMI Program Navigator

The BMI Program Navigator is expected to act as a program manager for the Doctorate of Health Informatics through marketing, recruitment, application processing, student liaison and lead the learning management software interface.

Responsibilities

Actively lead the preparation of recruitment materials and strategic direction for the DHI program.

Independently represents the DHI Program at professional conferences and national meetings that require overnight travel.

Serves as the point person for DHI inquiries from prospective students.

Independently corresponds and fields inquiries from potential and current DHI students.

Leads the creation, coordination and management of the process candidate selection for the DHI Program.

Collaborate with DHI faculty to design and monitor the admission process for DHI students.

In partnership with the DHI students, act as a liaison with the registrar's office to coordinate student enrollment.

Independently coordinates in-person sessions for DHI students.

Provides input and expertise into the design of, builds, and manages DHI courses utilizing the learning management software.

Facilitates Department of Biomedical Informatics faculty with configuring DHI Program courses in the learning management system.

Independently develops standards and maintains an archive of all teaching materials in the DHI Program's curriculum to facilitate their reuse and to support faculty cross coverage of teaching events.

Coordinates and maintains DHI Program's policies and procedural documentation in a timely manner.

Manage the technical aspects of student attendance, enrollment and matriculation in the program.

Has availability to work occasional overtime on weekends or evenings to complete time sensitive projects and for occasional overnight travel to attend external DHI Program recruiting events.

Acquires knowledge for new technology and policy / procedure revisions.

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :

BA / BS required, Masters or advanced degree preferred (Communications, Education or equivalent).

Minimum of 2 years in educational coordination in an academic university setting.

Experience with a learning management software (LMS) preferred.

Experience in coordination of educational programs.

Demonstrated ability to utilize common software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint; ability to learn new software as required and remain proficient in all software tools necessary to perform duties of this position.

Knowledge and proficiency in grammar and spelling skills. Ability to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

Knowledge of basic medical terminology, contractual matters, policy development, and compliance issues.

Ability to interpret, comprehend, and transmit complicated and detailed instructions accurately.

Promotes a culture of excellence, inclusion, and superior customer service by providing guidance on and role modeling best practices.

Requires strong analytic skills and the ability to manage multiple, complex activities while maintaining close attention to detail.

Applicants must have strong organizational abilities and demonstrated success in meeting multiple deadlines.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with investigators, research teams, colleagues, DHI students, and potential students.

Maintain a professional demeanor while representing WMed and the DHI Program at external, face-to-face recruiting venues, some of which will be out of town and require travel.

Demonstrates the ability to recognize priorities in organization of work flow.

Able to perform duties independently, with a minimal need for direct supervision.

The employee must be able to perform a combination of sitting, standing and walking.

Must have the ability to hear within normal range and possess the physical capability and hand dexterity to operate basic office equipment.
