Shoreline Foundation, Inc. (SFI) is an energetic, fast-paced marine General Contractor whom is currently seeking a SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER to join our growing team.
The senior project manager is responsible for the overall leadership and direction on multiple construction projects. You will serve as the point of contact for all project managers for issues concerning budget, billing and client satisfaction, and ensure the fiscal success of the project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership in business judgment and all financial and profitability aspects of projects.
- Set appropriate milestones and assign staff qualified to handle the scope and complexity of the project.
- Work closely with clients, owners, architects and subcontractors to develop relationships that exceeds the client satisfaction.
- Provide oversight in managing all necessary resources throughout the entire project from start-up through closeout and ensure that the owner’s expectations regarding budget, schedule, and quality, as well as profitability objectives are met or exceeded.
- It is expected that the senior project manager is the “common thread” that controls the project from project commencement through closeout and beyond.
PROJECT CONTROL OBJECTIVES :
Oversight of projects at a high level from beginning to end including budget, costs, unexpected events, general performance, and overall progress against plan.Ensure that the day-to-day operations of projects are transitioned effectively to project managers and superintendents from preconstruction when work commences in the field.Represent SFI to the Owner(s), Architects, Consultants, Government Authorities, Vendors and Subcontractors.Project operations responsible for ensuring that Projects achieve budget, schedule, quality and profitability objectives.Maintain a thorough understanding of the SFI / Owner Contract; ensuring project team understanding and that project achieves compliance with the contract.Visit sites regularly to monitor project performance, schedule, and expenditures with project staff, highlight potential challenges and provide leadership in responding creatively to bring projects in on schedule, under budget, and to the standard of quality expected.STAFF MANAGEMENT :
Monitor and evaluate project manager and superintendent staff assignments.Responsible for development of entire team.Assist in sourcing and screening of candidates as requested; mentor, coach and train them to perform and ensure effective matching of talent to project scope.FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT :
Cash ManagementAccounts ReceivableAccurate Financial ForecastingProfit & Loss (P&L) including full understanding of project contingencies, liabilities and savings potentialSCHEDULE MANAGEMENT :
Assist the project staff in the development of the Baseline ScheduleMonitor schedule performanceAssist the project team in initiation of the Construction Plan and workflowEnsure Project Staff understands and is trained in SFI Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and monitor compliance.SAFETY MANAGEMENT :
Champion jobsite safety effort, motivating the on-site team in the implementation of SFI Safety Program.Coordinate with Corporate Safety Officer that all projects are maintaining proper safety standardsEnsure original project budget includes project appropriate safety funding.MEETING MANAGEMENT :
Attend all scheduled meetings necessary to monitor and manage project profitability.Chair and / or attend weekly project Superintendent & Project Manager meetings, and coordinate the meeting agenda and minutes.Client RelationshipsAttend Owner and project meetings, maintain continuous client contact to gauge performance perceptions and communicate relevant information to Project Team.EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or applicable discipline and experience relative to project size / scope.Minimum of 10 years of construction management experience for a medium to large scale general contractor.Excellent business judgment demonstrated by consistently achieving profitability objectives and strong project close-outs with client and subcontractor relationships in good standing.Experience leading multiple successful project teams including development of direct reports and maintaining relationships with external entities.Adept in motivating and leading high performing teams.The ability to manage and embrace change. Respond and adapt to new processes and new ways of looking at old problems.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to confidently and decisively take action.WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and / or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking. SFI is based in South Florida. Must be willing to travel from time to time for short durations.
