Overview

Join to apply for the LAUSD Safety Specialist role at Simplex Construction Management, Inc.

We are currently looking for a Safety Specialist (LAUSD CM-SS-0325-17-Ext) for our contract with Los Angeles Unified School District. This is an on-site, long term job located in Southern California. NO relocation funds, and NO per diem.

Location : Los Angeles, CA

Number of positions : 1

Type : Direct Hire

Salary Range : $123K - $137K

Qualifications

  • 10 years\' full-time paid professional construction safety management experience in developing and implementing accident prevention programs for a large private or public organization

Education

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor\'s degree in industrial or environmental engineering, Occupational Safety or Industrial Hygiene or a closely related field

    • OR

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a Professional Safety Certification

    • OR

  • Two years of college education with a Professional Safety Certification and an additional 2 years of full-time professional paid experience in construction safety management

    • Completion of the OSHA 500 and 40-hour HAZPOWER courses is preferred

    Credentials (Preferred)

  • Any Professional Safety Certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP)
  • Licensed Safety Professional (LSP) from the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP)
  • Certified Safety Manager (CSM) from the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP)
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH)

    • Additional Details

  • One of the following credentials is preferred : BCSP, NASP (LSP or CSM), or CIH
  • Work Authorization : In compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, individuals must be lawfully authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship from Simplex.
  • Compensation : The pay range provided is a good faith estimate at posting time. Actual compensation depends on qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • There is no relocation or per diem provided.

    • Environment : This is an on-site role with the Los Angeles Unified School District contract.
