Position Summary
The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within our manufacturing facility. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of all electrical components supporting production and facility infrastructure. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and control panels
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical equipment
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to support production needs
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform root cause analysis
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and safety programs
Requirements
Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certificationMinimum 5 years of industrial or manufacturing electrical experienceProficiency in PLC troubleshooting and basic programmingStrong understanding of electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E)Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagramsExcellent problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as neededPreferred Skills
Experience in automotive manufacturing or Tier One supplier environmentFamiliarity with Japanese manufacturing principles (e.g., Kaizen, 5S)Knowledge of robotics, automation systems, and high-voltage equipmentBasic understanding of mechanical systems and hydraulicsBilingual (English / Japanese) a plus, but not requiredWorking Conditions
