Responsibilities Position is in an 18-bed ICU with both ICU and step-down level care Primary patient ratios are 2 : 1 for ICU and 3 : 1 for step-down Patient population includes neuro and critically ill adult patients Shift schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts Every other weekend and every other holiday required Floating may be required to step-down level of care No on-call or call-back requirements Charge nurse also takes patients Scrubs are navy blue Daily duties include advanced neuro assessments, ventilator management, titration of sedatives and vasoactive drips, and participation in post-ROSC and sepsis protocols Preference given for experience with tPA administration and massive transfusion (Belmont) procedures Team has a strong core group of staff and values a collaborative, adaptable work style COVID-19 vaccination is not required but this may change Holiday coverage is required in rotation First week schedule during orientation may vary from standard hours Requirements Active IL RN license required Current AHA certifications : BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience required, 3 years preferred At least 1 completed travel RN assignment required Proven neuro assessment skills, dysphagia screening, and Tele / EKG interpretation required Competence with ETT / ventilator management and initiating / titrating multiple critical care drips Experience managing sepsis protocols and post-ROSC therapeutic hypothermia Must pass an EKG interpretation exam on first day No local candidates within a 40-mile radius will be considered Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-625691.
