Position Title : PreSchool Associate Teacher

Funding Source : General Fund

Employment Type : Hourly, 35 hours / week, 12-month

Reports to : This position reports to and is evaluated by the School Principal

Qualifications :

• Possess and provide evidence of High School Diploma or GED certification; and 60 credit hours from an accredited institution; or passing scores on the Work Keys basic skills or Paraprofessional assessment tests.
• Child Development Associate credential (CDA) or Associate Degree in Early Childhood / Preschool Education or Child Development; or at least (2) college credits in Child Development along with a plan of work to complete the course requirements to earn an Associate or a CDA within two years.
• Past experience working with pre-school or school age youth.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with students, families and staff.

Obtain 24 hours of Professional Development per school year including but not limited to : CPR / First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogen, Food Safety, Diversity and Licensing as appropriate

Position Description : The Infant to 3 Year Old Associate Teacher provides in-classroom assistance to both students and the Lead Teacher to help facilitate a positive learning environment. The Associate Teacher collaborates with families and other staff members to ensure academic success of students.

Physical Requirements : Light Work : Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and / or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects; Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling.

Evaluation : Performance of this job will be evaluated by the School Principal in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Perform all other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher, Principal, and Administration.
