POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluating and providing comprehensive, therapeutic interventions for premature and medically fragile newborns, supporting motor development, sensory regulation, and family-centered care. Plans, develops, and implements professionally competent, comprehensive individual treatment programs for inpatients within the Neonatal Intensive Care and Newborn settings. Provides supervision of patient care duties delegated to nonprofessional staff. Assists with managerial, administrative, and educational duties as assigned by the rehab manager. Performs professional, competent physical therapy treatment programs and related documentation on all assigned patients in an efficient and timely manner. Participates with other members of the health care team to facilitate maximum patient benefit and efficiency. Participates in and contributes to educational programs. Assists with evaluation and supervision of assistants, aides, volunteers, and students as assigned.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy. Two years experience as a physical therapist is required. Supervisory and / or clinical teaching experience and additional clinical experience is preferred. Meets clinical and leadership activities and behaviors as defined in the clinical ladder or equivalent.
LICENSURE
Licensure by the Executive Council of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners as an Physical Therapist is required. Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card. Ambulatory Therapist must be a participating Medicaid and Medicare provider or be eligible to obtain a Medicaid and Medicare provider number.
