Custodial Supervisor
Virginia Military Institute is accepting applications for a full-time Custodian Supervisor. Job Duties : Direct and supervise a custodial team to ensure effective, efficient, and productive use of workforce. Conduct inspections and working with the team to ensure all deficiencies are corrected promptly. Responsible for the custodial services management and completion of special projects and events. Responsible for training staff in proper cleaning methods and use of supplies. Responds to customer requests in a courteous and professional manner. Ensure that adequate supplies and equipment are maintained. Maintain accurate record keeping including data in the work order system. Resolve internal complaints and problems. Ensures personnel are properly equipped and wear appropriate personnel protective equipment (PPE) when performing daily tasks. Ensure personnel adhere to all policies and procedures. Perform weekday and weekend stand by responsibilities for after hours. Enforces established appearance and conduct standards to ensure the Physical Plant organization is represented to the highest level and respected in the VMI community. Performing other duties as assigned by management such as event preparation and support, inclement weather support, and special project teams.
Minimum Qualifications : 1. Possess the ability and demeanor to work internal and external to Physical Plant. 2. Maintain high personal standards for conduct and appearance. 3. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. 4. Perform weekday and weekend stand by responsibilities for after hours. 5. Knowledge of chemicals and equipment. 6. OSHA requirements are met.
