We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our external client, a renowned medical center in Garden City, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retina practices.
This is a temporary assignment for three (3) months.
Requirements :
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician in a retina practice (preferred).
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) from a JCAHPO-accredited program is preferred, or actively working towards certification.
Schedule :
Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PMResponsibilities :
Conduct tests and measurements to assess eye function and assist Ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating eye disorders and diseases.Evaluate patients' far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception.Examine the eye using a slit lamp to identify abnormalities in the cornea and anterior / posterior chambers.Administer drops for anesthesia, dilation, or medication of the eyes.Measure intraocular pressure (glaucoma test).Assess patients' field of vision (central and peripheral) for defects and record results accurately.Measure the axial length of the eye using ultrasound equipment.Perform additional tests and measurements as requested by the physician.Additional Salary DetailThe salary range and / or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
