JOB DESCRIPTION
COMPETENCIES
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Marketing and Public Relations
Serve as the face of the organization as its primary spokesperson, and actively seek opportunities to promote its mission and programs in all public forums.
Work with the Board to develop and implement an annual marketing plan.
Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups and organizations.
Fundraising
Take a leading role with the Board in fundraising activities and in maintaining the fiscal stability of the organization and its programs through the active cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individuals, corporations, foundations, and other donors.
Work with PCR’s board to reach its $3 million goal for community building, through education and program development.
Administration and Operations
Develop and strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders and constituencies including other non-profits, clients, government agencies, donors, politicians, educational institutions, and other community services agencies.
Implement strategies and systems that ensure the organization’s operations meet the highest standards of quality and service.
Promote active and broad participation by volunteers in all areas of the organization's work.
Provide leadership in developing program, organizational and financial plans with the Board and staff and carry out plans and policies authorized by the Board.
Ensure PCR has a long-range strategy that achieves its mission, and toward which it makes consistent and timely progress.
Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Board Development
Research, interview and create new board members whose mission and vision aligns with PCR’s.
Keep the Board fully informed on the condition of the organization and important factors influencing it.
Work with the Board chair to recruit, develop, and maintain an active and committed Board.
Responsible for support of all activities associated with the Board, including scheduling, and staffing the Board and committee meetings, preparing and distributing meeting materials, and recording the minutes.
Financial Management
Work with the Finance Committee and the Board to prepare a budget and oversee the organization’s compliance with the budget.
Develop and maintain sound financial practices.
Ensure adequate funds are available to permit the organization to carry out its work.
Responsible for growth and financial viability of the organization.
Jointly with the chair and Secretary of the Board conduct the official correspondence of the organization and execute legal documents.
Personnel Management
Take responsibility for recruitment, employment, and release of all personnel, both paid staff and volunteers.
Ensure job descriptions are developed, regular performance evaluations are held, and sound human resource practices are in place.
See that an effective management team, with appropriate provision for succession, is in place.
Maintain a climate that attracts, retains, and motivates a strong and diverse staff and volunteers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
